Aromas Itinerarium Salutis is officially a candidate cultural route of the Council of Europe
The Director Ma. Luisa Vázquez de Ágredos Pascual and the Executive secretary Simona Tardi officially presented the candidacy of the European Route of Historic Pharmacies and Medicinal Gardens for the certification of “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” on the occasion of the 12th Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Annual Advisory Forum, in Łódź, Poland on 20-22 September 2023.
Aromas Itinerarium Salutis will be under evaluation within the certification cycle 2023/2024 together with other 4 candidates:
- European Network of Holy Week and Easter Celebration
- European Paganini Route
- Le Vie di Leonardo da Vinci
- Via Querenissima
This international event has allowed us to learn about the other candidatures and other cultural routes already certified by the Council of Europe in previous editions.
In addition to the presentation of the new candidates, another of the panels of this International Forum highlighted good practices in the field of European cultural routes, of great interest to us. In all cases, the importance of implementing educational activities in these routes was highlighted, with the capacity to raise awareness and train future generations in the relevance of European cultural and natural heritage, in its material and immaterial dimension, as a source of identity, social cohesion and community development.
These are actions that are part of the Aromas Itinerarium Salutis Action Plan 2023-2026, which we will carry out in parallel to other activities aimed at research and transfer, as explained during our presentation at this event.
