Celebrating International Museum Day together!
To mark International Museum Day, Aromas itinerarium Salutis (AIS) launches Discover Pharmacy Museums – 4th Edition “The Storytelling Challenge”.
In line with the ICOM International Museum Day 2025 theme: “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities”, the initiative focuses on digital storytelling as a tool to engage evolving audiences through two complementary activities: a practical training workshop and a coordinated social media action.
ACTIVITY 1. Online workshop
"Pharmacy Museums and Storytelling Techniques in the Age of Social Media"
Why this workshop?
Pharmacy museums are increasingly investing in digital communication, but effectively reaching and engaging audiences through platforms like Instagram requires specific skills. Through four interactive sessions, participants will learn how to transform their collections and spaces into engaging digital content, with a particular focus on creating strategic and high-impact Instagram reels.
Workshop structure and content
The workshop is organised as a step-by-step learning journey, with a mix of basic theory, hands-on practice, and individual feedback:

Session 1 – Introduction to digital storytelling for pharmacy museums
Understanding the basics of storytelling and its relevance in today’s digital landscape. -
Session 2 – Techniques for creating engaging reels
A step-by-step guide to planning, filming, and editing short videos for social media. -
Session 3 – Tools for creating engaging reels
A step-by-step guide to planning, filming, and editing short videos for social media. -
Session 4 – Review and feedback on participants’ draft reels
Screening of draft reels with feedback, improvement tips, Q&A, and final publishing guidelines.
ACTIVITY 2. Coordinated digital action — Publication of reels
Videos created by participants during the workshop will be published on @aromas.itinerarium.salutis, using the collaborator tag to credit the participating museum (if applicable).

Who can join?
The workshop is open to all pharmacy museums and collections, whether or not they are members of the AIS network. It is intended for professionals involved in the communication, promotion, and public engagement of their museum or collection.

Meet Your Trainer
Andrés Felipe Portillo Omeara, known as Anfepo, an expert in digital communication, storytelling, and audiovisual production, with a well-established career in the field.

With over 12 years of experience in the audiovisual sector and six years specializing in digital content creation for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, he has developed advanced expertise in managing multimedia narratives and optimizing online visibility. His YouTube channel currently boasts 12,000 subscribers, demonstrating his ability to build and engage digital communities.
Currently engaged in a specialization program in copywriting and scriptwriting, he conducts an in-depth analysis of platform algorithms to optimize content dissemination and impact. Recently, he has explored the integration of Artificial Intelligence in creative processes, developing new methodologies for innovative content production.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with the University of Valencia and has contributed to the development of high-impact digital strategies for prestigious brands and organizations, including Engel & Völkers, a leading luxury real estate firm, demonstrating a strategic vision in leveraging social media for cultural and corporate heritage promotion.

To ensure a high-quality learning experience with individual feedback and support, participation is limited to 20 people. Spots will be given in the order we receive the registrations.

Non-members: €100 participation fee
Payment method is by bank transfer to the official account of the Aromas Itinerarium Salutis association. Participants are required to upload proof of payment when submitting the registration form.
Deadline
Registration and, for non-members, payment must be completed by 12 April 2025.
