The International Association Aromas Itinerarium Salutis (AIS) participated in the prestigious meeting organized by the French Ministry of Culture, which brought together representatives from 33 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (ICCE) in the historic city of Autun. The meeting provided an important platform for AIS to present its unique route, showcasing the association’s increasing involvement in the network of European cultural heritage.
AIS: Strengthening Its Role in European Cultural Routes
During the meeting, Stéphane Loda, Mayor of Canet-en-Roussillon, presented the Aromas Itinerarium Salutis route to the attendees, including key figures from the French Ministry of Culture. The presentation highlighted the cultural and historical importance of the AIS route, which combines historic pharmacies and medicinal gardens into a network dedicated to sustainable tourism and heritage preservation.
Key Outcomes of the Meeting
Through the meeting, AIS successfully expanded its network in France, establishing new contacts with historic pharmacies interested in joining the route. Additionally, the meeting paved the way for potential collaborations with other prominent European cultural routes, such as the Way of Santiago, ITER VITIS, and the Artagnan Route. These partnerships aim to enhance the international visibility and impact of AIS, fostering cross-border cultural exchange and tourism development.
